About Us and Our Clients

Attorneys Against Abuse Of Elders was founded in 1997 by Sacramento attorney Mark A. Redmond. Mr. Redmond is a 1989 graduate of Pepperdine University and a 1992 graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Board Room

Mr. Redmond quickly gained trial experience with a local district attorney's office and subsequently conducted a busy civil litigation practice focusing on personal injury-related cases. Mr. Redmond was trained and certified as a long-term care ombudsman. This training and experience allowed him an insider’s view of the best and worst of nursing homes and board and care facilities. With this experience, Mr. Redmond has successfully litigated all types of elder physical and financial abuse cases. We’ve included some examples below.

  • A bedsore / death case worth $1,030,000
    • Confidential civil settlement concerning an alleged stage IV bedsore resulting in sepsis and death
  • A bedsore / infections / malnutrition case worth $785,000:
    • Confidential civil settlement concerning alleged stage III and stage IV bedsores, multiple related infections, dehydration and malnutrition, and death
  • A pending financial elder abuse case
    • We are currently representing multiple individuals and pursuing a proposed class-action lawsuit against James Walker, Senior Care Advocates, Inheritance Protection Group, and related parties; the suit alleges that the defendants falsely promised to “prequalify” elders for Medi-Cal when the defendants would have qualified on their own for Medi-Cal, or would never have properly qualified; other related, alleged schemes include the sale of unnecessary reverse mortgages and annuities
